Frequently Asked Questions - Dave Taylor Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Do you cover all over Scotland?

A - Yes, I am happy to cover anywhere in Scotland, although a small additional charge may be applied to cover mileage outwith the central belt.

Q - How do we secure your services for our big day?

A - You can contact me by email, phone or the contact form here to check availability. I would then suggest a meeting with yourselves to meet with me and view my sample albums. If everything is to your liking and you wish to book me, all that is required is a booking form to be completed and a £100 deposit.

Q - Do we meet you before the wedding to discuss our requirements?

A - Yes, usually in the month before the wedding, I will contact you to meet up and discuss all arrangements for your big day, although I am contactable at anytime to answer any questions.

Q - How long do you stay for on the day?

A - Your wedding is the only booking that I will take on that day, I cover from the bridal preparations through to the first dance, this is not restricted by time.

Q - Do you take photographs during the service?

A - Normally yes, although this is at the discretion of the minister/priest/celebrant/registrar. I am happy to speak with them and abide by their wishes. I would suggest that you clarify this prior to the big day.

Q - Do you take group shots?

A - Yes, I will always take group shots of the bridal party and parents and I’m happy to take any other group shots you wish, I would usually recommend around 8 group shots as they can be time consuming, but it’s entirely up to you.

Q - Do you take black and white photographs?

A - Yes, all images are shot in colour, but are easily converted to black and white. Your online gallery will include most shots in colour and black and white.

Q - Can our guests take photographs throughout the day?

A - Yes, of course, I am more than happy for guests to take their own pictures. There may be times where I ask them to wait until I get my shot, to avoid flashes affecting my exposures, but I have no problems with this.

Q - How do we view our images?

A - I will upload your edited images to an online gallery, this can be password protected if you wish. I can leave cards on your tables with details of how your guests can view the images. Family and friends are welcome to purchase any prints, frames etc, directly from me.

Q - How long until we can view our images and album?

A - I aim to have your images edited and uploaded to your online gallery and have your disc ready within 2 weeks, certainly no more than 3 weeks. The album usually takes around 3 weeks from when you pick what images you want in the album.

Q - Can we print our own photographs from your disc?

A - Yes, the images on the disc are edited, high resolution and print ready, I would however always recommend that any images are printed at a professional lab to appreciate the full quality of the images.

Q - Are you insured?

A - Yes, I am fully insured.
